Palmer technologies: ATENA refractory structure analysis

"We are using ATENA to analyze the behavior of refractory concrete structures. To date the behaviour of refractory structures is not fully understood and a wrong design can result in very high financial losses for our customers. Non-linear analysis is an extremely useful tool to verify and check the refractory design. ATENA proved to be the most accurate program for this purpose and it provided to be a highly effective tool in understanding the behaviour of refractory structures."

Rambol sweeden: Atena experience

„We have successfully used ATENA for design of the strengthening of some old RC frame structures at Slussen in Stockholm. Nonlinear capabilities were needed for reliable assessment of the remaining structural capacity and simulation the effect of the optimized strengthening.“

SBETA-ATENA helps to explain bridge cracks 1/2

An inspection of the 30 years old Lindenacker bridge in Switzerlan revealed cracks in the transverse beams above piers. The repair project was conducted by Aegerter&Bosshardt, Basel, Switzerland. Program SBETA was used to explain the cause of the beam cracking. This page contains the basic facts about the problem, pictures of the bridge and some basic analytical results showing the cracking in the transverse beam.

This second information page contains more detailed results from the numerical analysis showing the vectors of principal stresses and profiles of reinforcement stresses.
