In October, new version of ATENA (ver. 3.3.0) has been released. It includes numerous improvements and corrections of existing problems. The main modifications are:
- Group editing of reinforcement. Now, it is possible to modify properties of selected reinforcing bars by a single click.
- Analysis times and post-processing of large structures has been significantly improved.
- Improved handling of contacts. A user can select the master surface for ATENA general contacts.
- Context help in Atena 3D gives assistance to users and quick access to the background theory.
- Conditional break criteria extends the possibilities for handling solution divergency situations.
- New hardlock drivers and HASP utilities included in installation: Hasp HL 5.20, Hasp HL License Manager 8.31.5.20, Aladdin DiagnostiX 1.10, Aladdin Monitor 1.4
- Improved handling of contacts for shell elements
- Updated and new AtenaGiD scripts, compatible with GID version 8
- A new option for automatic generating of color scales, which clearly separate colors for tension and compression areas ("divided by zero")
- Fixed problems in moment diagrams for Atena 2D in case of complicated reinforcement arrangements.
- Fixed problem in softening of SFRC Sbeta material in Atena 2D
User survey
We would greatly appreciate if ATENA users can take few minutes and fill in and send us the ATENA EVALUATION FORM . This will help us to improve our products based on your proposals and suggestions. We would like to thank to all of you that have already filled in and submitted this formular from our website. Please return the form by email to cervenka@cervenka.cz.
ATENA helps to save money in new tunnel design
Modern design of a tunnel in Prague introduces substantial savings in reinforcement and construction cost. ATENA allowed engineers to propose and verify the novel design concept. Read the full article here.
ATENA considers random material distribution
In real structures, the material parameters are not constant throughout the structure, but are randomly distributed. ATENA system includes options, which allow engineers to consider this known fact in the non-linear and probabilistic analysis. This new exciting concept is described by a new article on our website in section "Probabilistic analysis".
ATENA models fibre reinforced concrete
ATENA is a popular choice of researches that study new and modern structural materials. Modern experimental work is always supplemented by numerical analysis. User friendly interface of ATENA makes it an ideal tool for researches that request fast and reliable results without time consuming training or tedious input data preparation. In this respect, we are proud to present selected features of ATENA for fibre reinforced concrete modelling.
Safety formats for non-linear analysis
For practicing engineers we have prepared a short overview with examples summarizing the available safety formats for the application of ATENA in design.
UPTUN project finished
Our company participated in the European project UPTUN dealing with the problematic of fires in tunnels. The project has been successfully finished this august. It was a great experience in cooperating with engineers from more than 30 european companies from many disciplines. We are happy to present several selected results on our website. You are also invited to read the papers and presentations published in the section R&D Projects.
ATENA future development
We are dedicated to continuous improvement and development of our main product ATENA. The objective is to create a powerfull tool, which would address all engineering analytical aspects of reinforced and plain concrete structures. The current main development lines are:
- Unification of ATENA 2D and 3D graphical environment into a single program.
- Implementation and unification of thermal, creep and static analysis into a single transparent and easy to use system.
- Capabilities for dynamic implicit analysis
- Eigenvalue analysis
